If you’re interested, you can also take a look at the old water tower from outside (Robert Maillart, 1906). Back then, the water tower was used to fill the water tanks of the steam locomotives. The tower is considered a pioneering work of reinforced concrete art and is one of the city’s listed buildings.
There was once an exhibition inside the tower by Christoph Büchel (The House of Friction). You have to see the pictures – what an absoltely crazy exhibition!
The old water tower is next to the Lokremise.
