Nicole Hebeisen grew up by the forest in Wittenbach, near St. Gallen. Having spent family holidays in the mountains and by the sea, nature has become her biggest inspiration. Already as a child, she found her passion for painting and spending her time with animals.
After her apprenticeship in advertising design in a St. Galler company and visiting the
“Schule für Gestaltung Zürich” she wanted to go back to draw more by hand and started in
2013 with tattooing. While working in different tattoo studios with great artists, she learned
many techniques and styles and, over the years, developed her own.
In her work, she has to create something that fits for the rest of life, on a living and changing
body.
With the atelier, in 2021 she brought together the world of tattooing with the world of
painting: Showing that tattoos are “just” paintings on the skin. With that step, she created a
space, where tattoos are grown into art, away from trends and copies.
To balance out working exact with the needle, she loves to paint big on canvas and wood with
oil or acrylics, drawing on paper with wax pastels, coal and pencil or doing lino prints.
Whenever there are possibilities, Nicole will raise funds for animals.
By selling paintings as well as by tattooing, she collects money to donate to good causes.
With her work, she aims to bring the beauty of nature and (all) animals closer to humankind.
She intends to be an inspiration for change, for a future, in which every living being counts
and speciesism will no longer be an issue.
