Sooi.lab is the shared atelier of Yuki Kawahara and Tina Stamelou — a space where tactile craft and poetic illustration meet — next to Retrovare. Twice a year, the studio opens its doors for intimate open studio weekends, bringing together a small circle of artists in a relaxed popup setting.
Yuki creates hand-felted objects that feel both minimal and deeply comforting — made from wool, water, and patience. Her pieces balance simplicity, function, and warmth, often combined with silk or cotton to create timeless, long-lasting companions.
Tina, originally from the UK, brings a more playful yet refined perspective. Trained at Central Saint Martins and the University of Huddersfield, she worked with brands like Designers Guild and Christian Fischbacher before settling in Switzerland. Her illustrations explore nature in a light, expressive way — birds, plants, and subtle Mediterranean details that evoke a sense of quiet joy.
Workshops are held occasionally, with upcoming Sashiko and felting sessions planned at the atelier. These will take place on the first Saturday of selected months. For inquiries, contact info(at)yuki.ch.
