Rammstein, MUSE, Foo Fighters, US rapper J. Cole: Erol was the PR manager and press spokesman who put the Swiss concerts of these global stars in the spotlight. He also handled media relations for the Eagles of Death Metal concert in Zurich – just three months after the devastating terrorist attack at their show in Paris’ Bataclan – speaking to the press about security measures aimed at giving concertgoers a sense of safety.
Like many from St. Gallen, Erol eventually moved to Zurich. He worked as a Marketing Manager at a major Swiss daily newspaper, later as an Editor and then became PR Manager at what was then the country’s largest concert agency.
As a freelance PR advisor and copywriter, he primarily supports small and medium businesses and cultural professionals with their PR work so that they are heard, seen and, ideally, talked about. «I want to help the small ones, I’m too small for the big ones,» says Erol. He returned to St. Gallen in 2020. «I’m a returnee, and I want to give St. Gallen an international flair.»
His «Kaleidoskop» event series is his attempt to do that. Several times a year, he brings international top-notch DJs from the electronic music scene to St. Gallen – artists who perform in renowned European clubs. His goal: to preserve the city’s underground music scene.
