Simone leads a wonderfully varied life that reflects her many passions. From Monday to Wednesday, she works as a social worker. Thursdays are dedicated to baking in her cozy little bakery, and Fridays she spends in her ceramics studio. «This diversity allows me to do all the things I love».
Originally from Romanshorn, Simone spent her early adult years in Vienna, where she studied social work. Alongside her studies, she baked cakes to sell at local markets and cafés. It was also in Vienna that she discovered pottery—starting with a wheel-throwing course and continuing to learn on her own from there.
Since July 2025, Simone has been running her own charming studio in St. Gallen, lovingly named «Teig&Ton». There, she bakes cakes, tarts, cookies, and, most of all, her fantastic cinnamon knots — often delivered warm by bike to nearby cafés.
She also offers pottery classes for small groups almost weekly in her studio. For Simone, working with clay is all about the creative process: «As soon as you get your hands into the clay, ideas start to flow. It’s such a rewarding material—whether the result is smooth, organic, or perfectly formed. What matters most is the joy it brings».
Simone loves what she does, and you can taste it in her cakes and feel it in her ceramics creations and classes.
