Martina Meyer, born in 1988, originally from the picturesque Toggenburg region and now residing near Lake Constance, is the creative force behind MENAMANO. A mostly self-taught leather artisan, she brings a rare passion and precision to every piece she crafts.
Martina launched MENAMANO in 2018 – its name combining her last name and first name MENA and MANO, the Italian word for ‚hand‘ – a tribute to her commitment to handcrafted quality. All materials are carefully selected, with a focus on vegetable-tanned leather from Europe and high quality and durability of accessories.
Her atelier on Rosenbergstrasse in St. Gallen, opened in November 2024, serves as both creative workshop and cozy concept-store, where she produces small and micro batches of leather goods
The product range is diverse: accessories, bespoke handbags, shoppers, shoulder bags, backpacks and even sneakers assembled during her leather-sneaker workshops. These sessions teach participants, with no prior experience required, to stich and craft their own sneakers by hand – with all tools and materials supplied onsite. Repairs to genuine leather bags can also be made on request.
Martina’s story reflects an authentic, creative spirit that not only appreciates craftsmanship but also wants to revive it. With roots in a rural canton and a path shaped by curiosity and dedication, she now creates in a lively city, transforming her love of leather into unique handmade one-of-a-kind pieces.
