Karin wrote me on Instagram and shortly thereafter we met for a coffee. We talked a lot and of course… I did not take any notes and so maybe I forgot a few things but I think that doesn’t matter because all you have to know is: she is a great and talented videographer! I will show you some of her work below!
Karin grew up in St.Gallen and moved to Zurich but her heart and friends are still in St.Gallen. «Maybe I’ll come back one day» she says. Karin has a full-time job as in marketing and communication besides her passion. In her free time, she is passionate about videography and wedding film making. She filmed the «St.Galler Sportpreis» for over 7 years.
In Switzerland it’s normal to have one or two photographer at a wedding. The trend to film the wedding is already old in America, but now slowly arriving in Switzerland as well. Karin has already filmed a few weddings. Till this day its always a new learning and growing experience for her. The best part about it is meeting new people, hearing their love stories and capturing their dream wedding, so they may relive that moment each time they look back at their video. In april 2019, she was even flown in to Colombia for a wedding.
«I think a Video can be more emotional than a picture because you can always look back at your wedding and the special moments to re-experience it all… even 50 years later. And perhaps you’ll even see things that you otherwise would have missed on the special day.» says Karin. Sound effects and background music have a major impact on the final product. So it’s possible that the video elicit more tears of joy than the actual wedding.
However… it’s important to choose a wedding photographer or videographer whose work you love now, will still adore in years to come, and who you feel is the right fit for you, your partner, and your wedding. So if you’re looking for a wedding photographer or videographer head on over to Karin’s Website!
