Janine is a Swiss Slow Fashion Designer from St.Gallen who creates amazin women’s dresses. I known her because of the blogpost by «Atelier Visite» and finally met her some months later in the Ladencafé (PopUpStore). She invited me to her new atelier in Arbon and we talked about her brand, fashion and her new collection «Hidden Layers».
Janine grew up in Eastern Switzerland. Architecture, art and fashion design have accompanied her since childhood. She loves to draw people and how they move. Before launching her own label, she worked in engineering. She also went to the Swiss textile school in Zurich. At the moment she works as a engineer designer and incidentally as a fashion designer. The affinity for the technician has become her trademark. From 2016 to the present, she has presented four collections (new interpretation / from grain to blossom / Visit Arthall / Lingering Garden).
Janine debuted her F/W 19/20 collection «Hidden Layers» in Vancouver on March 2019, where she bets on Slow Fashion and Swiss Design! The new collection is shaped by scenic attractions, culture and her love to craftsmanship of our native country. The new collection «Hidden Layers» includes 13 really cool looks. It is high-quality fashion for authentic women who go trough life in a strong and responsible way. Rough and honest, party asymmetric and with hidden elements which only appear through the movement. Janine was inspired by the rocks of the Churfirsten, the rich deep blue of the Walensee in contrast to the multi-layered gray green of the mountain chains.
Less is often more.
Sustainable production of materials is a must!
She only use high quality natural fibers from sustainable, ecological and fair production. Of course only regional and european fabrics are processed. Less is often more. People who buy quality instead of bulk/mass wear the clothes with pride and are careful with it. And finally, if you also have a story about your favorite piece and its origin – it’s wonderful. The designs convey timeless elegance and puristic. And last but not least: not the clothes, but the people are in the foreground.
I want it – I need it!
If you like a garment, you can either order it online or even better – go directly to her studio for fitting. The sizes 36-38-40-42 are very popular, from size 44 it is recommended to have the designs made to measure. Some of the fashion is also available in Saint Gallen City @Goldmarie and also in Bern @Toku.
