With a focus on local, natural and healthy ingredients, every meal is absolutely delicious!
The story of Bamboo starts in february 2008. The founder, Huu Trùc also called Howdy wanted to bring fresh and healthy asian cuisine to St.Gallen. But it was a long way to go. At first he cooked all dishes together with his mother and sister. Huu Trùc says that there were days when he only ate rice with soy sauce to save money for his dream – an own restaurant. In 2014 the dream become true and he opened his own restaurant! And even better; in 2017 and 2018, Howdy and his team won the award for the «Best Home Delivery Service» in Switzerland! And this has its reason! Anyone who has ever eaten at Bamboo appreciates the food here very much! At Bamboo you can eat Janapese and Vietnamese Cuisine. And by the way «Trùc» means Bamboo in Vietnamese.
The chef-cook, Hidehiro Maruo, a native Japanese, create fresh and delicious sushi and sashimi every day. Other Japanese specialties including Nigiri, Maki, Uramaki and Miso soup are also the customers‘ favorites.
The best selling dish is the «Red Thai-Curry ↗». And if you like it really spicy you have to try their «Green Thai-Curry ↗». Smaller dishes like «Spring Rolls» or «Wan Tan» are also available. Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, allergies? No problem! There is also an extra allergy information on the website.
But there is much more! Huu Trùc and Manuel Herzog are very innovative and full of ideas. They planning some really cool events like comedy nights, charitiy events or a series of guest chef appearances with chefs from around the world. The restaurant is super spacious and it’s lovely decorated. On two walls you can see illustrations from the local artist Drüegg ↗.

This restaurants value local partners! They buy vegetables from «Giovannetoni» and «Caviezel» from Arbon, bread from the «Bäckerei Weder» and more. Regional and seasonal vegetables are very important for them and they sell only regional or Swiss meat. Also they have switched to completely ecological packaging material and paying a lot of attention to sustainability.
