«Axis Mundi» is latin and means World Axis. Tattoo artist Peta Matschass and his wife Moni opened their tattoo studio this year in Mai. Peta’s been tattooing since 2013 and Moni since 2009. There are lots of styles of tattoo art and different tattooists specialized in different types. Peta is specialized in Dotwork and Blackwork while his wife Moni does American traditional and old school style as well feminin blackwork and ornament style.
Tattoo artist Peta has become well-known for his awesome blackwork, mandala, dotwork and ornamental tattoos. Peta’s tattoos are influenced by ancient tribal tattoos (different island tribe’s of Polynesian for example), indigenous art of the different tribes of amazonia (Kajapo for example), which he brings together with his idea of modern blackwork. The aesthetic claim is very important, thats why he designs the designs directly Freehand on the skin to optimally adapt to the body shape. His special technique is time-consuming as each dot must be placed precisely but it is well worth the wait. Peta is highly skilled and patient.
Tattoo artist Moni likes to do feminin blackwork and ornament style but her style is also colorful traditional/old school. Moni loves to draw and this is what you see because her tattoos are really beautiful! With her drawings she can realize dreams. I simply love her drawings!
