Amanda is a dancer and movement instructor born, living, and working in St. Gallen. She has brought Fusion Bellydance to St. Gallen – a modern style of belly dance, fused with elements of western, urban, and folkloric dance styles, that evolved in the US. She trains this dance passionately since 2006 and has studied with the most renowned representatives of the scene. Her dance journey as a student, instructor and performer has taken her throughout Europe and the US.
In addition, she pursues other health-promoting concepts and areas, in particular Pilates, Spiraldynamik® (a recognised movement and therapy concept), fascia training, mobility training, fitness, and nutrition. She has always been particularly interested in anatomy and biomechanics, which she studies intensively.
All these backgrounds and methods merge in her characteristic teaching style.
In 2014, when she was only 24 years old, she opened Studio Pittoreska in St. Gallen where she teaches dance and movement regularly, hosts guest instructors and events. With its unique interior and flair it is an inspiring space for movement, health promotion, creativity, and community.
«I don’t want to just get people moving, but teach and educate along the way. Because knowledge and awareness make the difference.»
The effectiveness and sustainability of health training is reflected in its impact on everyday life. In her experience, knowledge enhances our competences for the quality of our training and its impact on our life. An awareness and basic understanding of the body, its way of moving and our implementation makes all the difference.
This is her approach and passion. Also, she loves how so many different but like-minded people come together at Studio Pittoreska, how a community evolved, friendships built over the years, ompassion cultivated and how people inspire her and each other.
Despite her travelling, her favorite place of work (and living) has always been St. Gallen, her home. So according to her, with Studio Pittoreska she has fulfilled her very best dream. And she loves to see how the community around is continuously growing.
